Nancy McDowell Crèche
Kids' Promising
Tomorrow Ahead
Established in 1962, Nancy McDowell Crèche holds the distinction of being the first crèche in Daveyton, originally donated to serve the underprivileged community. We cater to children from informal settlements and squatter camps, with a special focus on inclusive education for children with special needs.
Our Vision and Mission
Our vision is to ensure that every child develops holistically, leaving our institution with sound knowledge, strong foundational skills, and the confidence to succeed in life.
Mission is to give children a head start in learning, equipping them with an educational foundation that will help them overcome future academic challenges. We are guided by core values of transparency, accountability, honesty, trustworthiness, courtesy, and integrity in everything we do.

Parents' Words Are The Key
To Happy Kids
Before finding Nancy McDowell Crèche, I was so worried about finding a place for my son. We live in Mina Nawe, and options were limited. My son has special needs, and other places either couldn't accommodate him or were just too expensive. From the moment we walked in, we felt a difference. The staff's dedication to inclusive education is real, and the stimulation center has made a huge difference in his development.
Parent's Perspective
The Grannies Programme at Nancy McDowell Crèche is a lifesaver for me. I live alone, and before this, my days were very quiet and lonely. Now, I get to spend time with other elderly people, and we are given a nutritious meal twice a week. We even get to do physical exercises and some basic education. It's not just about the food; it's about the moral support and the community. It's a place where I feel seen and cared for. I'm so grateful for this place and its kind heart."
Community Elder's Story
I’ve known about Nancy McDowell Crèche my whole life. My own kids went there, and now my grandchildren are attending. What's incredible is how they've stayed true to their mission for over 60 years. They've always been a pillar of the Daveyton community, especially for those in need. I've watched them grow and adapt, even adding things like computer literacy and a special needs center.
